Stolen prized show dogs recovered in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. Three prized show dogs stolen from a van in a motel parking lot in Memphis have been recovered. The Schipperkes (SKIP'er-kees) were taken from the vehicle of a Michigan couple sometime late Wednesday night or early Thursday. A man who said he knew where the dogs were helped reunite them with Gary and Vicki Hester. The animals were found yesterday in Whitehaven at a dead end road, in their crates, hidden in some bushes. All three are doing well, though they're skittish. They are valued at around 45-hundred dollars altogether. The Hesters told police someone broke the lock and stole the dogs travel crates and all, along with Christmas presents, clothes and jewelry. The motel does not allow pets.
